Releif from Back Pain after 13 years

In 1977 I sustained a back injury - prolapsed discs. I thought it was a pulled muscle which would improve with rest and as I had a fortnight holiday in 10 days I didn't go to my G.P.

I continued to work after my holiday as I was on a ward that did not necessitate lifting patients. In March my father died suddenly and I traveled home for the funeral. Although the pain was lessened, I knew by that time that I needed to see the G.P. but deferred doing so until after my brother and his family had visited Nottingham where they stayed & I visited them there.

After the train journey back to London, I was in acute pain and casualty. I was admitted immediately and made to lie flat on a board. I had a series of x-rays but all appeared clear. The doctors were convinced that it was all in my imagination as a result of the shock of my fathers death. I asked for a Mylogram to be done and the injury showed up - discs prolapsed anteriorly. The consultant announced that I needed a laminectomy with a 50-50 chance of walking again.

At that point I decided I would consult  a 'Bone Setter' in Tipperary who repositioned them and gradually the surrounding oedema dispersed but I was left with a permanent weakness in my spine.

In 1991 I had a total hysterectomy, with a displacement of the intestines and bowel. Since then I was unable to get out of bed without rolling on my side and pushing myself to a sitting position with my elbows, because of the stiffness of my back and lower spine. I remained like that for 13 years.

I had Reiki at the first Reiki workshop and since then the stiffness disappeared - End.
