Case Study #1: How Lynda Gained the Confidence to Successfully Change her Career Following Angela’s Reiki 1 Course

I completed a Reiki workshop with Angela and off I went back into my life armed with my “de- stressing, feel good tool”.

Up until that point, I had been able to fool myself into thinking that everything in the garden was rosy.  I had a great husband, great children and a great job.  But deep down something felt wrong.  There was something missing.  I knew that I was not living the life that I wanted.  I began to do a lot of soul searching and realized that I wouldn’t be able to find a solution until I had identified the problem.

I loved my family, but because of family responsibilities, I felt trapped in a job that no longer held any joy for me.  The bottom line was that I did not get anything out of my work anymore.  I had invested twenty years into my career and was very reluctant to let it go.  It was part of my identity as well as being a well paid safe job for life.  “Who would I be if I did not have my career?”  Any decision not only affected me but my family as well.  How would they react?  I was afraid of change and couldn’t take that “leap off the cliff”.  The fear was holding me back.

I began to use Reiki on myself everyday and slowly but surely I found the courage to open myself up to other possibilities.  Within a few weeks I heard about a job that was radically different from the work that I was doing and one that I would have never thought about for myself.

I started the new job six months ago and have not looked back.  It suits my needs perfectly for now.  Changing jobs may not be such a big deal for everybody, but for me it was the scariest moment of my life.  Reiki helped me to find the courage to “take the leap” into the unknown.  It changed me from the inside and with this clarity I have found a more satisfying and exciting life.

When I come to the next cliff, I’ll remember not to look down but to look up.

When I was a young baby I had Asthma and as I grew up I was missing loads of school because I kept getting loads of infections in my chest and I had problems with breathing.

My mom had heard about this thing called Reiki and saw an article in the newspaper. My mom went to one of Angela Gorman’s Reiki talks and decided she wanted to do Reiki for herself.

Two years ago my mom started doing Reiki on me. In these past two years I haven’t got a chest infection and that’s all thanks to Reiki. Now my mom is a Reiki Teacher.

I have suffered with Crohns disease for the last ten years. Last September the hospital told me that my bowel would have to be removed. The very same day, I found Reiki. That night I went to a Reiki practitioner with just a glimmer of hope.
