Reiki helping with remitting and relapsing Multiple Sclerosis

I am a forty seven year old man who was diagnosed with remitting and relapsing M.S four years ago and I had been in remission until I suffered a serious relapse in the Summer of 2001. This resulted in severe loss of balance, taste and considerable numbness in the left side of my face.

Also, in addition to these very obvious and physical effects I became worried and anxious because I felt there was little hope of a speedy recovery at the time. In short, I had resigned myself to a lengthy relapse and I was worried that some of the damage done might not be repairable and I would be left with permanent disability.

In the past I had heard of Reiki but I knew very little about it. When a friend told me that she was doing it I was happy to give it a try thinking at least it wouldn’t do any harm and at best I might see some improvement in my condition. In fact what I experienced over the next ten days can only be described as amazing.

I began to recover at a pace which was way and above my expectations. I began having Reiki treatments every day and after the third session I was back on my feet to the extent that I was able to go for a short walk. After five days the feeling in my face was back to about 50% and my taste was coming back too. Also, my general mood, which had been down was now upbeat, as the stress and the anxiety that I was under just seemed to go away.

Over the next few days everything gradually returned to normal and at the end of the tenth session I was back on my bicycle and enjoying my food once again. At this point I took advantage of a third week to take a short holiday before going back to work and my remission was complete.

I am now eight months back at work and I remain in good health. I am still receiving Reiki on a regular basis and I plan to keep having it, not just for physical maintenance, but also for emotional healing that may not be as apparent but is just as real. Reiki is a great help in dealing with the pressures and traumas, which occur from time to time as part of life.

Now when I tell my story, I say that I am living proof of Reiki’s powerful healing capacity and I highly recommend it to anyone, even if they are not sick.
